Testing an evaluation phase 2

I am going through the pros and cons of our findings in the testing phase of our home mess system.

Today, the testing was completed by the group and the data was gathered by observations, note taking. We used think out loud protocol with the user and did interviews at the end.

me and Kevin tested the prototype on a couple more users and interviewed them after the testing and also made notes while they were testing prototype 2.

IIIIII there is no I in group work and part of being in a group is letting your fellow group members know when you are going to do the work and getting our approval before deciding on anything. Kevin has contributed in all our presentations nobody is denying that but so has every other person in the group so it’s not nice to point the finger at anyone. If the marks where not great then no one individually is to blame the whole group is.

Before making any decision in the group presentations please organise group meeting to discuss it because it seems unfair, like avais mentioned not everyone is familiar with the software used so we need to find out what is best for everyone.

Part 2 "PROTOTYPING AND EVALUATION"

It is a group assignment and i think we should all decide on the work, rather than making your own decissions and working on em. We all are equally responsible and worried for the marks and work done and presented. No one rushed any work or member before so i dont find you comment valid on that bases....
As far as the director is concerned, group need to meet up and decide. We all are not familiar with director and might not agree with it 100%.... If the whole process is going to be same then what about the disadvantages from evaluation???
Lastly,
If you think this group has been a mess up, then how come you never mention these wordings before???? You have put the same effort towards the group as me and rest of the members of group... Not being rude or anything... you cant be judging the whole group because you have not been happy with some work.. Because of your decission we didnt use prototype presentation and, we (me including the rest of the group members) think that we lost marks because of that... SO would you tell me who to blame..???
AS i mentioned before, this is a group work and you cant be making your own decissions... I actually cannot belive that you came up with this on the last week, you could had mentioned in group meetings if you had any problems...

Prototyping and evalution phase 2

I have started to prototype the paper based system into a electronic version, for this i am using director 11 to create the prototype and using the data gathered for improvement, this has also been done. I director i have used simple shapes to represent the interface and using text. The whole system will do the same process like the paper based version
Now in data gathering we need to get the right methods as last time the whole talk was wrong.
We need to gather the data using: walk through, expert etc.. and explain it carefully this time. Please this time dont rush this as this is the last chance and i do not want to get the worst grade. This group has been a mess up this year.

Based on the feedback from our last group meeting... we have done 95% of the work as a group, credits goes to all not any individuals.. Absents on that day will need to report to the group and also would need to participate in the group work.... This whole module was based on group works and we have learnt, how to be fair and work in a group as a team. We all had burden of other modules and have still managed it quiet well and efficient. i would also like to take the opportunity to thank my teachers and fellow group members for their support. This module has been a great experience.

group contribution

I personally think we have all contributed to all presentations and not just the presenting part. In the last presentation if we had the power points slides as planned it would have turned out better. All members of the group turn up to group meetings outside class and contribute to the work. when members do not turn up we inform them about the work and let them catch up because its what being in a group means. The evaluation presentation is this Wednesday we are meeting on Friday to complete presentation.

Evalution

For this next presentation, i have created consent form for our testing, so this form can let users agree on what we will do when they are using the prototype. I am also about to start creating questionnarres which will be part of the data gathering- i.e this will be to gather about problems in the prototype and possible improvements. Please can you help with the testing part as i can not do it by my self.

Prototyping 1

In our prototype we have decided to add a switching interface where the user can use tabs to switch back and forward to screens. We thought of this idea to reduce the number of buttons on the system, so it make it easy to interact.

I agree on what you have wrote in regards of drag and drop ----> Mona

I dont know what the rest of the group thinks but we need to cut down abit on pop-ups or confirmations.... We can keep confirmations on importants areas, such as sending a message around to others...

Overall this is the best design we have chosen from our several other prototype designs... If any group member have any suggestions for any changes then please bring your idea's for Tuesday as it will be our final chance...

drag 'n' drop??

As we discussed on Friday we though it would be easier not to have the drag and drop as it will be more time consuming for the user to type out the message then click on the message and drag it up to the name they want to send it too and also they could send it to the wrong person if they do not drag it to the right button. but as we are all meeting on Tuesday we can all discuss this further if anyone has another opinion.
